Ramon Villamil
Founder & Head Coach — The Academy of Excellence
I’m a General Surgeon from Cuba who had to rebuild his medical career from scratch in the United States. In just a few years, I mastered a new language, passed USMLE Step 1, scored an exceptional 267 on Step 2 CK, and completed multiple clinical experiences at prestigious U.S. institutions.
With over two years of experience as a USMLE tutor and mentor, I’ve earned a reputation as a top educator—helping students unlock their full potential. I’ve guided students from diverse backgrounds to transform confusion into confidence and structure into success.
What I do goes beyond tutoring—it’s coaching. I provide continuous guidance, strategic planning, and accountability until you achieve your goal.
That’s why I created The Academy of Excellence. During my own preparation, I developed a proven study system designed to help students reach their maximum potential.
My philosophy is simple:
If you train with the goal of achieving 100%, passing becomes inevitable.
As the Spartan credo says:
“More sweat in practice, less bleeding in war.”
Success isn’t about memorizing every detail—it’s about clarity, simplicity, and strategy. My approach is personalized to each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
Your success is my success. My mission is to train you so effectively that you’ll never need a tutor again.
